Building in Public in Ottawa
What I am learning from meetups, coworking Sundays, and showing unfinished work to the room.
Building in public in Ottawa
Ottawa is quieter than the coastal founder folklore, which is exactly why it works for me. People show up to build, ask honest questions, and stay for the long conversations after the slides end.
Rooms that compound
Builder Sundays, walk-and-talks along the canal, AGIV nights, BCO meetups — none of these are “content.” They are force multipliers. You borrow courage from a room that has seen the messy middle before.
What I share now
I stopped waiting for perfect demos. A rough prototype, a half-written systems note, or a photo from the workshop is enough to start a useful exchange. The archive on this site is part of that: leave a trail so future-me (and future collaborators) can see how the thinking changed.
The quiet rule
Show up consistently. Help other people ship. Keep the ego thin and the notes thick.
